I have to say that I reactivated the majority of the plugins that were required during this course. Mostly because they work, and if something’s not broken why fix it right? The list of plugins I kept and the reasons why are below:
- Accessibility by UserWay – Even with this plugin, I feel like accessibility is underrated and still overlooked. I am guilty of not considering the struggle that someone might face in order to maneuver arount a site.
- Akismet Anti-Spam/Antispam Bee – I get tons of spam from websites that aren’t well protected, I’ve started using this as well as Antispam Bee, and it’s cut way down on the amount of junk I need to sift through in my email inbox.
- Blubrry PowerPress – This seems to be an easy to configure plugin that is simple and stable, making it easier for visitors to listen to all of the important things I have to say.
- Really Simple SSL – Because security is important!
- Simple Social Buttons – It’s easy for me as the site owner, and easy for the user because the buttons are relevant and easily identifiable.
- WooCommerce – this plugin is like the Google of online shopping. They are everywhere, partnered with everyone, and they have their UX/UI thing down pat!
- UpdraftPlus – This plugin was great for backing up my site. It sent out automatic updates when the backup occurred, and I never had any trouble with it.
- W3 Total Cache – improves the speed and thus the user experience.
